Your donation could help to provide a lifeline to other families.

There is a Police investigation at the moment about burglaries affecting North and West Wiltshire. Attacked premises appear to be selected if backing onto fields, have wooden frames with access being gained by forcing entry at the back of the house.
Property targeted is selective jewellery of higher value with cheaper items or electrical goods being ignored.
Whilst many scenes have provided forensic recovery in the form of DNA and fingerprints no suspect identification has yet been made.

OIL SYNDICATE
The Oil Syndicate is a group buying scheme where we have a tanker come to the area and empty it in a couple of hours.
The supplier saves on manpower and vehicle miles, we negotiate a discount and enjoy fewer lorry movements through the narrow lanes of our villages. These schemes work best when there is a high concentration of members in the same locality. Join up and encourage your friends and neighbours to join too.
For further details see the web site register on the site and join your local scheme online. You’ll receive email notification for each order run. For more information
email Richard Howells or call on 01793 731225.
Get in contact NOW! There will be a February/March fill up soon. Keep the cold out with a full tank.
Calne Town and Calne Rural Neighbourhood Police Teams - As a result of a re-think into how we conduct our consultations, we have decided to open Calne Police Station to members of the public for consultations between 1500 hours and 1700 hours every Friday. At least one member of our team will be available to speak with.
There is parking available at the station.
We have made this decision for two main reasons, firstly, we now have comfortable office and surroundings for your visit to the police station, secondly, any consultations we have arranged 'out in the community', were never well supported, often no one turning up at all. We will continue to attend Parish, and/or Council Meetings, if requested.
Just give us some of notice of the date, time, and location.
We can be contacted on the following email addresses;

The small Parish of Hilmarton including Goatacre and surrounding hamlets have been awarded a major Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £17100 to launch a new local history project called ‘A Parish Celebration’.
The exciting new history project will start from the Jurassic times when the land where the Parish lies today was under a warm coral sea and will bring us right up to the present day with an Apple supported iPad technology show. The project will involve many people from all age groups across the community and whilst investigating the heritage provide the opportunity to learn new skills such as digital photography, tithe map research, historical read-ing, genealogy, and computer uses.
This ‘Parish Celebration’ activity will take place from now until the end of 2012 and has been initiated by the Hilmarton Parish Heritage Society (HPHS). This group have previously organised many history related events and exhibitions in the Parish, including the hugely successful and National Lottery Grant supported Medieval Fayre back in 2008. The Heritage theme of their latest project will focus on the Parish of Hilmarton and Goatacre and will include the villages and hamlets of Corton, New Zealand, Whitcomb, Littlecott, Catcomb, Clevancy and Rodwell.
This project will demonstrate the rich and varied Parish history and make the same freely available and ac-cessible to the widest possible audience. This will include cataloguing and further investigating the findings of a Mesolithic flint axe at Hilmarton Highway Farm; the Bronze Age barrows and ring ditches at Clevancy, Rodwell and Catcomb; through to the Romano British period evident at Goatacre, Corton and Hilmarton; the Saxon origins at Corton, Hilmarton and Littlecott; the Medieval Mote and 12th Century Church of St. Laurence at Hilmarton and the later Medieval settlement at Whitcomb. The more modern history includes the 19th Century transformation by the Poynder family who built an estate house, Almshouses and a substantial school.
The final focus of the project will be a celebration of the Parish community as it is today demonstrating it’s linkages with the past. ‘A Parish Celebration’ will be available to view via iPad technology in the 1930’s red
telephone box opposite Hilmarton School which will have been fully refurbished and the necessary technology added as part of this project!

HILMARTON PARISH HERITAGE SOCIETY PRESS RELEASE
2011-2012 Newsletter
Wiltshire's Air Ambulance would like to say a huge thank you to all those who have offered support and funds to help keep us flying these past 21 years!
We simply couldn't keep saving lives if the support of the public wasn't as strong as it is. We do not receive any Government funding but rely totally on the public and local business's to support the running costs of the charity.
2011 will see the Appeal move into a new era by appointing its very own dedicated set of Trustee's that will help to shape the future of the Appeal along side the two new Appeal Staff members Claire Kelly, County Co-ordinator and Caroline Corrigan, County Fundraiser.
Currently the Appeal needs to raise E700,000 to keep the Helicopter flying 19hours a day 365 days of the year but will have to increase income to beyond 1.5million if the current partnership with the police is not renewed in 2014.
Everyone in Wiltshire has a stake in the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. 11t is an essential service
that serves all the people of Wiltshire what ever your age or gender you are. We are
there for those life and death situations where the speed of the helicopter and the skill of the crew play a major part in the outcome of the patient.
In 2010 Wiltshire Air Ambulance attended 628 different incidences. 112% of these were night rescues. Al-most half of all incidents the Air Ambulance attended were Road Traffic Collisions across our county roads or on the Motorways. Other situations include, cardiac arrests, horse riding accidents, work related injury, farm accidents, fires and burns.
WAA can be at an incident with - in 11 minutes. You may have heard the phrase 'Golden Hour' –this is used to describe the hour directly after an incident has taken place. It is imperative that the injured party receive medical attention within this hour to minimize the risk of life changing injuries or in some cases death.
Some of the main ways the Appeal raises the funds include our wonderful Westbury Shop which continues to grow each year; Dot and her dedicated volunteers have now raised over 1.5million for the Appeal. Our own Lottery continues to bring in thousands of pounds and pay's out E1,000 a week to the lucky winner! Our new Fundraising events include Parachute Jumps and The Toubkal Challenge which will see Paramedic Joanne Munday, Claire from the Appeal and 18 other mem-bers of the public climb the highest Atlas Mountain raising funds for WAAA We wish them all good luck .
If you would like further information on the Appeal or would like to make a donation please contact the Appeal Office on 0845 122 142 or email info@wiltshireairambulance.co.uk . We are always looking for volunteers to support our work and become one of our wonderful 'friends' who help to raise our profile and help us in their local community.
Please do remember to keep LIS informed on any of your own fundraising events so we can add details to our website – soon to have a facelift – and help to promote your efforts.
Once again, from us all at the Appeal, thank you for your continued support.
Without you, we would be grounded
