I was born in Chippenham and moved to Compton Road with my wife Jacquie in 1988. We have a daughter who attended Hilmarton Primary School and is now at The John Bentley School in Calne.
I work as an Area Sales Manager for Shell UK Oil. I have served on the Parish Council since May 1999 during some of that time I was Chairman. I was also a Governor at Hilmarton Primary School for 13 years. Currently I am an active member of the Parochial Church Council (PCC), Church Warden and a keen member of St Laurence Bell Ringers. I view the whole of the Parish as my family home and enjoy being involved in any worthy cause or activity that can add value to the community.

I live in Church road near the chapel with my wife, adult daughter and our dog ‘Basil’. My son and his fiancé moved out in 2011 and now live in Calne. My children have both attended Hilmarton and John Bentley Schools. We have lived in Hilmarton since 1995.
An active member of the community, having been involved and attended many of the projects and events held in the Parish and surrounding area. I have been an active member of the HSA, Neighbourhood First Responders; Also I am currently the Vice-Chair of the SSAFA Forces Additional Needs & Disability Forum.
I am a keen photographer, dog walker and cyclist (when time allows). When walking with ‘Basil’ we use many of the footpaths and bridleways that criss-cross our Parish, and try to keep them clear and accessible. I have served as a councillor for several years and I am proud of where we live and want to be involved in the community and maintain the charm the parish has.

I moved to Goatacre in 2003 with what was then just my husband Ceri but has since grown into my three children as well.
I work for a nationwide building society an organisation also committed to the local area and economy
As a family we try to make sure that we support and take part in all of the community activities that are on offer. Ceri is a member of the darts, cricket and football clubs in Goatacre. I have previously sat on the Goatacre Village Hall committee and am a member of the gardening club. My children were baptised at Hilmarton Church and we are often seen in the Church at various activities. I hope in due course they will all attend Hilmarton School.
It is because of the vibrant, colourful, busy and supportive environment of the parish that I wanted to become a parish councillor. It was my way of saying thanks to those friends, neighbours and the community that has been so kind to us and to hope that I can do something that will benefit the parish going forward.

I have lived in the Parish all my life apart from 4 years when I lived in Tetbury.
As a very active member of the community I like to feel I am putting something back into the place I love. As well as Clerk to the Parish Council I am Clerk to the Poynder Almshouse Trust, I was also Clerk to Hilmarton Primary School Governors for 12 years and I am a committee member of Hilmarton Community Association and one of the editors for the Parish Newsletter. Over the years I have served on many committees including Toddler Group, Playgroup, Hilmarton School Association, Parochial Church Council, Phoenix Group, Fete Committee and the Parish Plan Steering Group.
Sadly Eddie Peckham has resigned from the Parish Council due to ill health. Eddie has been a real asset to Hilmarton Parish Council, especially his planning knowledge and we would like to thank him for his commitment and enthusiasm whilst serving as a Parish Councillor. We will therefore be seeking to co-opt another Councillor during September. If you are interested in becoming a Councillor and/or would like to find out more then please contact the Clerk: Jacquie Henly either by Phone: 01249 760401 or e-mail:

Originally from Lyme Regis we recently [2009] moved to the village with my family from over the hill in Wroughton. I have two boys, one at the school – Roman and one still at nursery – Silas. I work for the Science Museum in London as their Sustainable Development Manager, overseeing improvement projects in the Science Museum, National Railway Museum, National Media Museum and the Science Museum at Wroughton. I take a keen interest in the places I live at but this is my first foray into council work.

I’ve lived in Goatacre with my wife Kate since 1991, and our children Josh, Tom and Annabelle have all been born and raised here. Our initial reason for choosing this area was to be within easy reach of our parents in Bristol and Hungerford, but we quickly came to value everything this part of North Wiltshire and in particular this parish has to offer.
Having retired from my career as a Legal Adviser at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, I wanted to give something back to the community and was very pleased to join the Parish Council in 2010. I am also Deputy Chair of Hilmarton Church Parochial Council and a member of the church choir.
Resident of Hilmarton parish since 2007
